Josh Coombs - MEMBERSHIP
Josh is our membership lead and expert on the LoveAdmin platform...
Martin Harrall - COMMODORE .
I joined CSCC in 1981 and became a coach in 1996. In that time, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge which I am always happy to share. Paddling always offers something new for me to try or learn. I have paddled the Avon from Malmesbury to Bristol docks, all the corners of the British Isles and in mainland Europe. I have worn many paddle-sport hats (& helmets) over the years: Canoe polo; Slalom; Wild Water Racing as well as recreational paddling in kayaks, canoes & SUPs. My favorite craft is always the one that I’m in (or on) at the time.
Julie Vigor – VICE COMMODORE
Julie takes a lead on all things on the water - training and induction courses, trips, coaching... ably assisted by our helpful group of volunteers
Nick Golledge - EQUIPMENT & STORAGE
I really enjoy coaching and helping members get the best from club. I'm also involved in new member induction and taster sessions and I love to see members get involved in club activities! I'm approachable and happy to help answer any questions... See me at club or mail nickg@chippenham-scc.com If I can help, I will.
Rachel James - WELFARE & SAFEGUARDING
I am welfare/safeguarding officer for the club. Off the water I am a level two men’s gymnastics coach and a men’s national judge. Please feel free to contact me through the club or in person. Or just say hi. I am usually to be found Tuesdays and Thursdays often falling in the river!
Martin Hunter FACILITIES
The club's "Jack of all trades". Often seen in and around the club either cutting grass or carrying out general maintenance. Always looking for volunteers to join our working parties.
Alan Pullen - HEALTH & SAFETY
I joined CSCC in 2016 after rediscovering the joy of being the water having not been out since I was a Sea Scout.
As Health and Safety Officer I assist the club to put in place health and safety policies and procedures, act as the first point of contact for club staff, volunteers, young people and parents for any issues concerning health and safety and ensure all accidents are reported in accordance with BC guidelines.
Vic Hemmings - Secretary
I joined CSCC in 2012, having fond memories of the occasional kayaking I had done at school but not having done anything since. I am probably at my happiest when I am on, in or near water, I find it so relaxing. The added bonus of paddling is being closer to nature, I love that just from the club there is a real variety of wildlife to see. I think it is fair to say that I don’t take my paddling too seriously... for me it is about enjoyment and relaxation rather than technical ability or excitement, I’m happy to leave that to others.
